Rooted in Texas, serving Kendall County
A seventh-generation Texan, Andra Wisian is delivering results for Kendall County families with the same values that shaped her ranching life: hard work, stewardship, and keeping her word. An independent businesswoman with deep community roots, she brings private-sector experience and proven leadership to her role as County Commissioner.

Leadership and service
Andra studied broadcast journalism at the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Humanities, with a concentration in English, from the University of Houston–Victoria (now Texas A&M University–Victoria).

Governor Greg Abbott appointed her to the board of the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, where she supported watershed protection, conservation, and stewardship. She stepped off in December 2022 to take office as County Commissioner. Earlier, she served on the Boerne ISD Bond Oversight Committee, ensuring voter-approved bond dollars were used as promised, and on the Boerne/Kendall County Economic Development Corporation board.

Family and faith
Family and ranching remain at the heart of Andra’s life. She and her husband, Kirby, ranch in DeWitt, Karnes, and Goliad counties. Their older son, Hans, runs a ranch-to-table beef company with his wife, Chrissy, while their younger son, Trent, is an oil and gas tax consultant; he and his wife, Lauren, a civil engineer, make their home in Sugar Land. Though she no longer shows cutting horses, Andra enjoys riding recreationally — from giving kids rides on her mare, Funky, at the annual Kendall County Picnic to carrying Old Glory in community parades.

Faith remains central. Andra and Kirby are active members of St. John Lutheran Church in Boerne, where she serves on the church’s building committee.

Giving back
Together, Andra and Kirby give generously to strengthen their community. They support groups such as the Kendall County Youth Agriculture & Equestrian Center, Boys & Girls Club of the Texas Hill Country, Hill Country Daily Bread, Hill Country Family Services, Rotary Clubs of Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch, Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, the Boerne Public School Foundation, Centurions of Kendall County, the 100 Club of Kendall County, and many more. Their giving also sustains cherished local traditions including the Kendall County Jr. Livestock Auction, Kendall County Fair, and Das Festival of Kendall. Each year, Andra hosts a birthday fundraiser for Meals on Wheels — raising thousands of dollars to support seniors across Kendall County.

Republican leadership and values
A dedicated Republican, Andra has served in leadership roles with the Kendall County Republican Women and has twice been a delegate to the Republican Party of Texas State Convention. A staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, she holds a Texas concealed handgun license.
