About Andra

A native and seventh-generation Texan, Andra Wisian will be an effective conservative leader for Kendall County. An independent businesswoman, she worked as a media consultant and currently helps run the family cattle operation in Kendall County and South Texas. Andra is also a dedicated and steadfast volunteer. She is known for bringing people together for a mutual goal, finding common-sense solutions, and creating win-win outcomes.

Andra was a key leader to create a very successful private-public partnership among county residents, Kendall County and Texas Parks & Wildlife to build the Youth Agriculture & Equestrian Center. The Center supports positive youth development to ensure a strong future generation of leaders for our county, state and nation.

In April 2021 Governor Greg Abbott appointed Andra as a Director to the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, which supports responsible watershed protection and stewardship, provides quality operational service, and promotes conservation and educational opportunities in order to enhance quality of life for those served. She resigned from the board in December 2022.

The Boerne Independent School District appointed Andra to the 2013 Bond Oversight Committee. In 2016 and 2017, she sat on the Boerne/Kendall County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors.

Andra is a dedicated Republican. She has been elected the president, secretary and chaplain for Kendall County Republican Women, as well as secretary for the Greater San Antonio Council of Texas Federation of Republican Women.

Andra has given her time and resources to many organizations including: St. John Lutheran Church; Hill Country Daily Bread; Boys & Girls Club of Boerne; Boy Scouts of America Troop 18 Boerne; Wounded Warrior Project; Kendall County Youth Ag & Equestrian Center; Kendall County Fair; Kendall County Jr. Livestock Association; Kendall County Wild Game Dinner; and the county 4-H program. She mentors 4-H Horse Club youth to foster self-esteem, leadership, and citizenship.

Andra’s memberships and affiliations include: St. John Lutheran Church, Boerne; Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association; Texas Farm Bureau; and Red Angus Association of America; American Cutting Horse Association.

Andra earned a B.A. in English from the University of Houston and also studied broadcast journalism at the University of Texas at Austin.

Andra’s hobbies include showing cutting horses as well as hiking and shooting sporting clays with her husband and sons.

A staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, Andra holds a Texas concealed handgun license.

Andra and her husband Kirby purchased land in eastern Kendall County in 1993 and built a home where they reside today. They have two grown sons, Hans and Trent. Hans ranches and is a private pilot while Trent is a Senior at Texas A&M University and is in the Corps of Cadets.
